TF Extreme 40 Fridge Freezer

Bought this FF earlier this year and used it in GB on a number of trips and it’s performed really well. Just spent 8 weeks touring France and Spain in up 36 degrees heat and it has exceeded expectations on both the fridge and freezer - we were eating ice creams from it on the hottest days - the freezer was maintaining minus 18 degrees ! Really can’t recommend highly enough.

So far the freezer compartment hadn't worked at all and hasn't got below 6 degrees and is, 21 hours after setting up, rising in temperature, currently sat at 10 degrees. The larger compartment has also risen to 10 degrees now although that stayed at a lower temperature for longer. I've tried on both the leisure battery and the powerbank I bought for my CPAP and although both show as full the unit seems to not be able to cool down. Have messaged for advice in case there's a setting I'm not aware of but I won't get a reply till Monday when it's office hours. At present I feel like I've wasted a good deal of money for something I expected to be a quality product

I moved up from a 35litre to TF-Xtreme 50 litre

I moved up from a 35litre to TF-Xtreme 50 litre. I like the fact I can independently choice individual temperature for each compartment. Currently using the large area as a freezer and the smaller as a fridge. Once the food has be transferred to our camp, it will be come a wine and beer fridge. I have a solar powered Totalcool 500 power bank as addition belt and braces supply, which should run the unit between 30-50 hours depending on usage. I can recommend this unit. The staff are friendly and helpful with a professional attitude.Pleased.

Will the TFX40 run my battery flat?

No, the unit has a built-in battery protection system that will cut out at 9.5 volts always leaving you enough power to start the engine.

How long will the TFX40 run on a caravan / motorhome battery?

Depending on the size of the battery and the setting around 20 – 30 hours on average.

How long will the TFX40 run on my car battery?

Again, depending on the size of the battery and the mode setting around 12 – 15 hours on average.
(The above can be worked out by dividing the wattage of the battery by the wattage used per hour. A 600-watt battery divided by 45 watts an hour would last 13.3 hours).

How long will the TFX40 run off the Totalpower 600?

Around 30 – 35 hours depending on the mode setting and ambient temperature.

How long will it take for the TFX40 to reach -20 degrees?

Around 20 – 30 minutes depending on ambient temperature.

Does it matter what the ambient temperature is?

No, the compressor will just work harder to reach the desired temperature and may take slightly longer.

Is the TFX40 noisy?

No and the compressor works intermittently so when the compressor is not on there is no sound at all.
